DMSO or Dimethyl Sulfoxide is naturally occurring sulphur compound that is both water and lipid soluble. Biological properties of DMSO were first introduced to the scientific community by Dr. S.W. Jacob in 1963.
DMSO (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) can be used as an effective pain killer to block nerve conduction fibers that produce pain. It is also a potent antioxidant and free-radical scavenger, reducing inflammation, swelling, and improving blood supply and oxygenation. It is indicated
for autoimmune and inflammatory conditions (arthritis, chronic pain, ulcerative colitis, fibromyalgia, scleroderma etc.), vascular impairment (post-stroke, spinal cord injury, and head trauma), as well as heavy metal and systemic toxicity.
DMSO promotes the excretion of urine and functions as a muscle relaxant. DMSO also increases the permeability of cell membranes, allowing a flushing of toxins from the cell. As a source of sulfur, DMSO aids in toxic metal detoxification.
